French 75 Cocktail

Yield: 1 drink 


  • 1 1/2 ounces* gin
  • 3/4 ounce lemon juice (plus lemon twist garnish, optional)
  • 1/2 ounce simple syrup
  • 3 ounces champagne (about 1/2 glass)**


  1. Make the lemon twist garnish, if using.
  2. Place the gin, lemon juice, and syrup in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake 15 seconds until cold. Strain the liquid into a champagne flute.
  3. Top off the glass with champagne. Garnish and serve. (Note: For a party, you can make a large batch of gin, lemon juice, and syrup ahead if desired, then measure out 3 ounces or 6 tablespoons per glass.)



*To convert to tablespoons, 1 ounce = 2 tablespoons

*You’ll get about 8 to 10 drinks per 1 bottle of champagne. Make it non-alcoholic by using non-alcoholic sparkling wine.
